Editorial Policy

Last updated: July 2026

AutoGearZone exists to help everyday drivers choose automotive gear and accessories through research, data comparison, and practical buying guides. This page explains the standards every article on this site is held to.

What we cover — and what we don't

AutoGearZone covers accessories and tools for everyday cars: dashcams, OBD2 diagnostics, safety gear, and in-car technology. We do not cover commercial heavy machinery or specialised track-only parts.

How articles are produced

Every article starts from a documented research brief that defines the question it answers and the sources it must check. Before publication, each article is reviewed against this policy.

  • Claims must be checkable. Specifications, prices, and technical facts are drawn from manufacturer documentation or other verifiable sources. If we can't verify something, we say so or leave it out.
  • Hands-on statements are literal. When an article says a product was used or tested, that reflects genuine first-hand use. Products we have not handled are covered as clearly labelled research-based comparisons — never presented as hands-on experience.
  • No invented numbers. We do not publish made-up test figures, statistics, or review scores.

Honesty in recommendations

  • If a product is not worth your money, the article says so. Negative findings are published, not buried.
  • Trade-offs are stated. No product is right for everyone, and our guides say who should not buy something.
  • As of July 2026, no article on this site has been sponsored or paid for by any brand. If that ever changes, the article will say so clearly at the top. See our Affiliate Disclosure for how we may earn money.

Corrections

If you spot an error — a wrong spec, an outdated price, a broken link — please tell us via the Contact page. Verified errors are corrected in the article, and material corrections are noted on the page.

Independence

Manufacturers and retailers do not review, approve, or influence our articles before publication.
